I was so thrilled to be asked to photograph Emilia’s baptism! I photographed her as a newborn, and created maternity images of her mom, so it was such an honor to be at her baptism. I can’t believe it’s already been 6 months since we created her newborn images! It’s wonderful that Emilia will have these images to remember the day she became part of the family of God, and to see all the people who love and support her. I’m sure all the photographs we took will be cherished for a long time.
The service was at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Washington. It was a lovely service, and Emilia was so good! She didn’t cry the whole service. Most all of the family and friends were there. And she was baptized by her grandfather, a Lutheran pastor, and clothed with a stole by a close family friend and Catholic priest. Many family and friends participated in the service, from reading to playing music to singing. (Dad is the music director at Trinity.) When Emilia’s mom was presented with the lit candle, Emilia started grabbing for it. She really wanted to hold that candle!
Here is the beautiful, happy family.Isn’t Emilia’s dress beautiful? Her dress was worn by her mom when her mom was baptized. So was the adorable bonnet Emilia wore. She didn’t try to remove her bonnet or the bow in her hair.
After the service family and friends had a great time at brunch. I had fun capturing candid photographs. And after greeting everyone, Emilia took a well deserved nap. To see more image, sign up for my newsletter, or see newborn images of Emilia go to portraitsbyanne-marie.com
