Wishing a very special Mother’s Day to all of the new moms out there! You might not get much rest, but I hope you have a very special day.
I love photographing moms with their children. My sister found this picture of me and my mom.
You wouldn’t ride in a car like this today! I’m glad I survived, but mostly I’m thankful for my mom, and this picture that I have of us together.
I wanted to be a mom for as long as I can remember. The happiest day of my life was the day my daughter was born. I wanted so much for her. Today she is a young, successful, respected business woman living in Chicago. I’m so proud that she is following her dreams and isn’t afraid to take risks.
After my daughter was born, I count’d imagine how I could have enough room in my heart for another child – I loved her so much! But four years later my son was born, and I fell in love all over again. He was born nine weeks premature and had a few rough patches before he came home, but I never lost faith that he would come home to us. And two days before Mother’s Day, he was released from the NICU! That was a very quiet but extremely wonderful Mother’s Day! I have found it fascinating to watch the wonderful gifts and unique personalities develop in each of my children. My son, also, is doing what he always dreamed of doing – he is a sport’s journalist. I am so proud of him! He has been living in California for the past eight months, and I miss him terribly, but I love our weekly phone calls.
This Mother’s Day will be spent with my mother, daughter, sisters, nieces, and nephews at a very special event – my niece is graduating from college. Those of you who follow my blog may remember that my son graduated from college last Mother’s Day. I’m so looking forward to watching my niece graduate. She has worked so hard to get to this moment. As the kids get older, it’s rare that we’re all together. Unfortunately, a few will be missing this weekend, but this will be a special day for us all, hopefully, especially for my mother who will have all three of her children, four of her six grandchildren, and her new great-grandchild with her.
Wishing a very special Mother’s Day to all the moms, daughters, and sons out there!
