Kids are back in school. For some, this is their last year in school. My son will be graduating from college this year! Graduation from high school marks a change in the child’s life and the family dynamic. That is one of the reasons I love photographing kids at this time. High school seniors are so much fun to work with! I love getting to know them and letting their personalities shine in the portrait session. During their portraits, they can express who they are at this turning point in their lives.
These images are from a recent high school senior session. It was a hot day and threatening to rain. We ended the session hot, sweaty, and tired, but we all had a great time and created some great images. One location we used was at an old metal bridge. The bridge provided wonderful detail to draw the attention to the senior. The lush foliage was a great backdrop.
This senior is a star baseball player, so, of course, we took some images in the dugout and on the field. I love these dramatic images as the sun is going down. The threat of rain gave us a dramatic sky.
As you can see, this senior was an excellent subject! I hope you can get to know him a little bit through his portraits, because he is definitely a kid worth getting to know.
