Do I Really Need To Update My Business Portrait?

You have a business to run, a family to take care of, a life. You don’t want to take time to update your business portrait. “How important could my headshot be, anyway?” you might think.

Today, more than ever, when people are looking to work with a small business, they want an idea of the personality of the business. They want to know something about a person or a business before they meet them.

  1. Do I have a portrait of myself on-line?
  2. Is it professional or a selfie?(If it’s a selfie or a photo a friend snapped where you had to crop out your spouse – what does that way about how you feel about your business?}
  3. Is it out-dated? – Does the hair style or clothing give away that it was taken in the last decade? Or is it an image you love because it’s of your younger self, but you don’t look that way any more.
  4. Does it reflect the personality of you or your business? Is it too formal when you run a casual business, or the other way around? do you look approachable, relatable, if that’s your personality?
