I love going to Cast Your Cares ministry in Kennsington on a Saturday afternoon to feed and talk with people who live in the area. Members of my church, Good Shepherd Lutheran, and Washington Crossing United Methodist Church go down there once a month. I enjoy the people there. They are so grateful that we cook for them and serve them. They all have very interesting stories to tell. There is one man in particular that I look forward to seeing. He always has some wisdom for me. We were very busy this Saturday and quickly ran out of food. Even though we were exhausted at the end of the day, we had a lovely afternoon serving some of the least fortunate in the area, in a little sanctuary in a tough section of Philadelphia. I’m glad I went!
