I love working with families, especially extended families. I love to see the bond across generations. The R. family was a wonderful family to work with! When I walked into that hospital room and saw his daddy holding him I was overjoyed. And when someone put him into my arms my heart melted. The baby is my niece's brand new baby boy, the first of his generation in our family. I was lucky enough to meet him when he was just 1 day old. Twenty two years ago, the Friday before Mother's Day, my son came home from a 5 week stay in the hospital, 4 pounds 5 ounces, 16 inches long. Last weekend he graduated, with honors, from Newhouse School of Communications and the School of Information Studies at Syracuse University. I am so proud of him! All of the family (except my niece and her husband who are expecting a baby in a month) were there.
